Slab Vessel
What are the strong parts of my project? Why?My project, in my mind was very well built. I think this because it doesn't wobble when it sits, I used a variety of colors on my vessel, and it has an asymetrical design.
What are the attributes of the theme? The theme of my pot, in my opinion, is contrast. I used this in the paint. I used a metallic silver paint for the walls of my vessel, then in the inset I used different brightly colored paint on the patterns. I think that emphasizes the contrast of my piece.
What is the main texture of my vessel? My vessel has smooth walls, but on the front wall ov my vessel there is a carved inset, and in this inset I carved a design with a ribbon tool.
What was the design of my vessel? How did I create it?My vessel was a basic cube, with asymetrical heights on the sides. after I connected the slabs to create the form I used a ribbon tool on the front to carve an inset on the front of the vessel. In this inset I used a needle tool and carved designs. After the vessel was fired, I used metallic silver paint on the walls and inside of the pot, and I used brightly colored paint on the carved designs in the inset. I didn't really know when I started how I wanted the finished product to look, so I suppose it looked the way it was supposed to when I was done.

What do I think I could have done better? Why?I could have made sure the sides of my vessel were an even width. While connecting the slabs to make the cube, they were not all a mirror image of eachother in width. I purposely made them not the same height, but I wish they would have been the same width.
What is the form of my vessel? What will my vessel hold?My vessel is a cube/box with sides that have asymetrical heights. The back wall and side walls are all similar lengths, but the front wall is shorter than the rest and the walls don't line up together in the corners. I gave my vessel to my mom, so it could possibly hold small flowers or pencils.
Metacognate: What did I learn with this project that I can apply to others or real life?I learned in this project that something that was a mistake or an accident can turn into something very neat or a success.
Was this project worthwhile?I think this project was worthwhile, I enjoyed the challenge of making the slabs thick enough and joining them together to make something super cool.
