Portrait Series
Preliminaries
What are the strong parts of your project? My pictures vary in color and composition. They express things about me and my personal life very well.
What is your theme about? My theme is things in my life that contribute to who I am, places important to my past, and how I have grown as a person.
What repeats in the design of your series? How did you use rhythm? My pictures are organized in a way that shows things that helped me grow and become who I am now and the major components of my life in the present.
What was the design process of your project? For the first week, I carried my camera with me everywhere. I took pictures of lots of things, and ended up with about 100 pictures. Then I just picked the ones that pertained to my life at this moment and my past.

What could you have done better? If I wanted to, I could have put more pictures on my time line, and more pictures of important people in my life.
What are the more dominant and less dominant colors in your pictures? My colors vary, but I used a lot of lighter colors, like grey and whites and blues. I didn't use a lot of red or green based pictures.
What did you learn about this project that you can apply to the future? You can't really set up the shot you want to take because it doesn't express the point you're trying to get across. It's easier and you end up with a better shot if you just carry the camera with you and catch the shots of a moment that cannot be replicated or expressed again.
Is this a worthwhile project?I think it was. I learned alot about myself and my camera and the people around me. I think in the future, you should assign more photos to be taken outside of class, because people are different outside of school than they are in school.
